Texas A&M’s Injury Report for Pivotal Game against South Carolina Gamecocks
Texas A&M football is heading on the road to face the South Carolina Gamecocks in a critical matchup with significant implications for the Aggies’ SEC title hopes. ESPN currently lists the Aggies with the second-best odds to reach Atlanta, but a loss in Columbia would seriously impact those chances—not to mention dampening fans’ spirits ahead of the bye week.
For a matchup this important, being at full strength is ideal, though that’s rarely the case this deep into the season, especially in the SEC. Nonetheless, according to last night’s updated availability report, both the Aggies and Gamecocks are relatively healthy.
The Aggies will be missing Chase Bisontis for this game. Bisontis was injured against Mississippi State and has been out since, though signs suggest it’s not a season-ending injury. He’s expected to return sometime after the bye.
Additionally, Jahdae Walker will sit out the first half following a targeting penalty he received last week. While the call was correct according to the rulebook, it sparked discussions among fans who rarely see targeting called on an offensive player for a hard block.
Finally, the Aggies’ quarterback situation remains noteworthy. A&M had questions at quarterback when Weigman was hurt, but now that both he and Reed are healthy, it’ll be interesting to see how the team handles the position going forward.
