On Sunday, December 15, the Detroit Lions will play the Buffalo Bills at home in what is probably going to be one of their most difficult games of the season. The Lions have been battling a number of injuries, which were evident against the Green Bay Packers, even though they recently defeated them on Thursday Night Football on December 5.
However, the Detroit Lions received the news they needed before of their game against the Bills on Wednesday, December 11, and it should be very beneficial to them.
A Number of Detroit Lions Players Return
Both defensive tackle Alim McNeill and offensive tackle Taylor Decker are listed as full participants in the Lions’ practice report for Wednesday, December 11. Josh Paschal and Levi Onwuzurike, both defensive linemen, are listed as limited participants as well. DJ Reader remains on the list of non-participants.
The announcement of Decker and McNeill as full participants and Onwuzurike and Paschal as limited participants is undoubtedly welcome. Furthermore, it’s even better that no new players have been reported injured. Therefore, it doesn’t appear that the Lions will be facing any unpleasant surprises when they play the Bills.
Before Wednesday’s practice, Detroit Lions head coach Campbell spoke with reporters and provided further details regarding the team’s injury situation. He talked about the current playing and practice status of every player on the injury report. Campbell stated, “Levi will be down, but he will practise tomorrow.” That isn’t a bad thing. Today, Mac will be out there. We’ll see what Paschal has when he runs around. If anything comes down after that, Reader, it will be tomorrow.
Although Aidan Hutchinson and Alex Anzalone are currently on injury reserve, Lions supporters are obviously eager to see them return to the pitch.
Having all three return would be advantageous because Onwuzurike, Paschal, and Reader were all absent from the match versus Green Bay. Due to a knee injury, Decker has missed the last two Detroit Lions games. It speaks volumes that every one of the 53 players on the Lions’ primary roster returned to practice in some capacity on Wednesday.
Baltimore Ravens Injuries Going Into Detroit Lions Game
According to USA Today’s examination of the Ravens’ injury report, which was published on December 11, the Bills appear to be in good shape heading into the Lions game.
FPs (full practice) make up the majority of the Bills report, and two important pass catchers, Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid, are returning, according to expert Jimmy Liao, MD. “Baylon Spector and Dawuane Smoot, two players who are eligible to play this weekend, are also returning from injury rehab.”
“In bad news, there are a couple recent concerns in the secondary in Rasul Douglas and Taylor Rapp,” Liao notes. Returning to the Lions, Liao says he is optimistic about Decker’s return for this weekend’s match. “He missed two games on November 24 due to a suspected right MCL and right high or medial ankle sprain,” Liao said. “The FP indicates that he ought to perform this weekend.”
But before Reader is well enough to play again, Liao said, he anticipates that he will miss another game. Onwuzurike has a “good chance” of playing on Sunday, he declared.
