The Detroit Lions had an injury-filled stretch of three games in 11 days leading up to their annual Thanksgiving Day game, with a notable player on another team regretting having such a stretch ahead. So extra time before facing the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, clearly identified as a possible Super Bowl preview, was welcome.

As the new week began, head coach Dan Campbell provided largely good injury updates (including some players on IR). Practice reports on Wednesday and Thursday confirmed that players could be available this week.

However, there was one update to Thursday’s practice report: linebacker Trevor Nowaske was unable to participate due to a concussion. Campbell’s reports prior to Friday’s practice were as expected. Josh Paschal (knee), Taylor Decker (knee), and Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring) appear to be ready to play on Sunday. Alim McNeill has cleared the concussion protocol and appears to be ready to play after suffering an injury against the Packers in Week 14.

Nowaske, who has emerged despite the Lions’ linebacker ailments, is undergoing concussion protocol. Campbell stated he didn’t watch Nowaske play on Sunday.
