Detroit winters can be harsh for anyone, but they’re especially tough on those who aren’t ready for them.
Despite watching hours of game film and preparing for opponents on the field, Lions rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold was unprepared for the bitter cold of Detroit’s December.
Arnold, who hails
from Tallahassee, Florida, and played college football at Alabama, had never experienced winters as severe as those in Michigan. Before being drafted by the Lions with the No. 24 overall pick, he was used to much milder temperatures.
On Thursday, Arnold posted a video on TikTok showing the heavy snowfall in Detroit. Fans quickly noticed he was braving the elements in nothing more than a hoodie, sparking concerns about his lack of proper winter attire.
By Friday, Arnold reassured Lions fans with a follow-up video showing off his new winter jacket and winter-ready shoes. While he may still need to add a few more cold-weather essentials to his wardrobe, this was a step in the right direction.
It seems that, after his initial struggle, Arnold is now more prepared to face the Michigan winter, with his new gear providing some much-needed warmth as he adjusts to his new home and the NFL.
