Detroit Lions Bounce Back with Dominant 34-17 Win Over Bears
The Detroit Lions rebounded in impressive fashion, defeating the Chicago Bears 34-17 to improve their record to 13-2. This win not only marked a franchise-record 13th victory in a season but also broke the 2011 team’s record for most points in a season, surpassing 274 points.
Hosts Ben Raven and Kory Woods of MLive’s Dungeon of Doom podcast were present for the victory, discussing the tweaks to the lineup and the standout performance by Jahmyr Gibbs, who shined as the sole primary back. The Lions’ defense also impressed, despite a few hiccups.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell praised the team’s mental resilience after their loss to the Buffalo Bills the previous week. “It takes a special group of guys to emotionally, physically, psychologically bounce back after a tough loss,” Campbell said. “We got up on them early and really was able to control the game. I thought we played that game the right way.”
Campbell also highlighted two takeaways that led to 10 points and the team’s ability to control the tempo throughout the game. Despite the victory, Campbell emphasized that there’s still work to be done, with a challenging road game against San Francisco ahead.
The Lions’ milestone was celebrated, but Campbell stressed the importance of staying focused: “One day we’ll be able to look back and enjoy that, but not yet.”
As the Lions prepare for their final two games, the team’s record-setting season continues to build momentum, with high hopes for both a strong finish and playoff success.
