Jameson Williams ensured a special birthday gift for his mom after scoring a touchdown.

Jameson Williams ensured his mom’s birthday was extra special by securing a meaningful gift following his touchdown performance.

On Sunday, Williams had a standout game for the Detroit Lions.

However, his career-best performance would not have felt complete without a thoughtful gesture for his mom, whose birthday coincided with the game.

In the matchup against the Chicago Bears, Williams delivered a stunning 82-yard touchdown, part of his career-high 143 receiving yards. He also contributed with a seven-yard rush, showcasing his all-around talent.

On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell praised Williams, calling it his best game yet.

BCampbell highlighted Williams’ impact not only in receiving but also in run blocking, describing his performance as exceptional.

“Offensively, our game balls went to (Amon-Ra) St. Brown and Jamo. Both had outstanding games,” Campbell said.

“For Jamo, it was likely his best game since joining us. He excelled in both the run and pass game, which was fantastic to see.”

Christian Booher of SI.com confirmed this assessment, noting how Williams excelled in every aspect of the game.

Reflecting on the 82-yard touchdown play, Williams explained, “It was off the safety, No. 36. He was flat-footed, and Goff trusted me to run past him. He knows what I can do down the field. He just placed the ball perfectly, and I went to get it.”

While Williams’ mom couldn’t attend the game in Chicago, her birthday was at the forefront of his mind.

After scoring, Williams made it clear he wanted to give her something special to commemorate the occasion. The Lions shared a sideline video of the heartfelt moment.

“It’s my mom’s birthday; I need that football,” Williams said.

“Can you write ‘happy birthday’ on it? It’s crazy—she didn’t even make it to the game, but it’s her birthday.”

Antwaan Randle El, the Lions’ wide receivers coach, noted that Williams’ incredible touchdown was already the best gift for his mom. However, Williams insisted on keeping the ball as a tangible keepsake for her.

“She told me she wanted a ball,” Williams told Randle El, “but she didn’t make it to the game!”

After his career-defining game, Williams didn’t let the excitement overshadow his thoughtfulness. Despite her absence, he ensured his mom’s birthday was celebrated with the football she had wished for.

On a day filled with personal achievements and team success, Williams also demonstrated his values—balancing his professional performance with a heartfelt gesture for his mom.

The touchdown and the ball marked both an extraordinary career milestone and a meaningful family moment.
