Liverpool believe Stefan Bajcetic is now ready to make his first appearance for Jurgen Klopp after suffering an injury while representing Spain under-21s in March. That’s according to the Liverpool Echo, who report that Bajcetic is set for his first trip to the Reds in six months. Klopp has been without the 18-year-old since he was injured in training. It was a brutal blow just days before Real Madrid played in the Champions League. Bajcetic is likely to start for the visiting Galacticos but was unable to prevent a 1-0 loss. Klopp has already trusted the teenager to start the first leg of their round of 16 tie at Anfield. The Vigo-born gem quickly rose to prominence on Merseyside last season.

Injury problems in Liverpool’s midfield saw Klopp Bajcetic in a surprise role from January. The Reds boss only used the midfielder sparingly before the turn of the year. Bajcetic started six of his 11 major league games, eight of which came in 2023. But Bajcetic suffered a strain reaction to his adductor in March, which turned out to be a season-ending injury. Klopp would not welcome the former Celta Vigo prospect back to his squad until August. However, Bajcetic is not a moment to his name so far. However, that could change on Saturday when Liverpool visit Wolves as the Reds believe Bajcetic is now fit to play. He was only an unused substitute in the Anfield club’s victories over AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Aston Villa. But he featured for Spain U21s.

Bajcetic has put himself in contention for a place when Liverpool visit Wolves after playing with Spain Under-21s against Malta. The youngster played as a second-half substitute in the 6-0 win over Junior Roja last Saturday. It was also his debut for the junior equipment of Santi Denia. Klopp hopes Bajcetic can recapture the form that attracted Salah last season. The forward told Sky Sports in February: “He’s a great player and someone who always works hard. Since he started playing with us, he’s maybe our best player. I hope he can stay that confident.”
