Tigers owners make huge call after ‘disgraceful’ comments

Following the team’s 22-14 loss to Canterbury on Saturday afternoon, one of the hosts of the fan podcast took to social media to criticise referee Kasey Badger, who was at the centre of several contentious calls during the round nine match.
Holman Barnes Group, one of the Wests Tigers’ biggest backers, withdrew their support of the podcast due to Badger’s criticism.

After being called “biassed” and told to “go back to the kitchen,” Badger received a lot of negative feedback on X from supporters of other teams as well as Mark Levy of 2GB.”It doesn’t matter how passionate you are about your NRL team, there is simply no excuse for this sort of behaviour on social media,” he stated. This guy reportedly manages a Wests Tigers fan page. Totally shameful! Referees are people. This merely makes them give up; we need more of them.”

Over the years, Holman Barnes Group had provided support and backing to them as one of the two fan-led podcasts that help the Tigers.

Levy claims that help has since been discontinued, though, in the wake of one of the hosts’ angry posts on social media.

After losing against the Bulldogs for the sixth time in a row, Benji Marshall’s team is currently ranked fifteenth on the ladder.

During the game, Aidan Sezer avoided a sin-bin for a hip-drop tackle, however Alex Seyfarth was sidelined for ten minutes in the latter stages of the game for headbutting Reed Mahoney.

At Accor Stadium, the visitors established an early 14-0 lead, but the Dogs raced away with the game in the second half.
