football.london takes a look at the moments you may have missed from Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with AFC Bournemouth on a frustrating afternoon for the Blues on the gloomy south coast.

Chelsea disappointed again in the Premier League as AFC Bournemouth were held to a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium. Despite many chances, the Blues again failed to find a way into the net. The first half was one of the few really good chances for the visitors on the wet south coast. Nicolas Jackson’s shot from outside the box clipped the outside of the post, while Conor Gallagher should perhaps have done better from close range, but was denied by Cherries goalkeeper Neto.
At the start of the second half, Raheem Sterling hit the crossbar from a free kick and Levi Colwill curled the ball into the goal. However, the assistant referee’s flag was immediately up with Colwill just behind the last Bournemouth defender and the goal was disallowed. Despite Chelsea’s efforts to achieve this difficult goal, they could not find a way out. In the first match after the international break, it was much more of the same. That’s why football.london takes a closer look at some of the moments you missed from the game at the Vitality Stadium.
Pochettino makes a wise decision
Before the start of the game, the weather was negligible. The word “furious” to describe the rain may be unfair. So when Mauricio Pochettino walked out at around 1.15pm – 45 minutes before kick-off – and possibly onto the pitch, he had a big decision to make: was he going to go out or not? Perhaps wisely, the Argentine looked at the conditions, shook his head and turned back through the tunnel, having decided to stay inside for that long. Fortunately for Pochettino – and everyone else who traveled to the Vitality Stadium – the rain eased somewhat as the game progressed. However, the pitch remained wet throughout the game, but luckily the water didn’t stay on the pitch and it was actually a nice surface to play on. Silva was furious with his teammates
Minutes before half-time, Thiago Silva controlled the rebound when Robert Sanchez dropped it to him from a quick free-kick. However, Silva was sorely lacking in options when looking to the future. Like Levi Colwill, Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez, who all played alongside Silva on the left side, were too forward and the pass was not correct. Silva recognized him and was heard shouting “Come on!” to his teammates, who all listened to the Brazilian. When Thiago screams, listen. And to be fair, he certainly had a point. Too many times in the first half, especially Chelsea, had the ball at the back but the midfield was too open for the defenders.
Gallagher yells at Enzo
When Enzo was sent off around the 80th minute, the Argentine midfielder was in no hurry to leave the field, even though the game was tied 0-0. Captain for the day Conor Gallagher then told his midfield partner to hurry up, in what was essentially a very loud voice. It was weird and you could see some Chelsea fans taking out their frustrations. Chelsea needed three points more than Bournemouth.
