Notre Dame commit Will Black is ranked the No. 4 prospect in the final 2025 On300.

Notre Dame’s 2025 recruiting class is adding one of the nation’s top prospects following a College Football Playoff appearance. The class, ranked No. 12 nationally, is led by five-star offensive lineman Will Black, who was named the No. 4 overall prospect in On3’s final 2025 rankings, solidifying his position as the country’s top offensive tackle.

A native of Wallingford, Conn., Black moved to the U.S. before his junior year to attend boarding school. His stock soared over the summer and remained high after a standout senior season. He capped his high school career with an invitation to the Navy All-American Bowl, where he impressed as one of the top performers, according to On3’s Charles Power.

“He was very consistent throughout the week and stood out during 11-on-11 drills, finishing strong in Saturday’s game. The Notre Dame commit played right tackle for the East team, a position he wasn’t used to, but grew more comfortable as the week progressed. Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing around 300 pounds, Black combines elite size with impressive agility. His quickness and ability to seamlessly move to the second level as a run blocker make him a great fit at the next level, as seen in the game. Black showed he could compete with the best offensive tackles on either team.

The Canadian-born player also got reps at both tackle spots, excelling at left tackle—his more natural position. While he’ll need to add some strength, Black showcased high-level traits and potential in San Antonio.”
