Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw three touchdowns to earn the Pro Bowl Games Offensive MVP, leading the NFC to a 76-63 victory in the flag football game that wrapped up the weekend.
Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy claimed the Pro Bowl Games Defensive MVP honor.
Goff showcased his skills by nearly perfecting the “passing the test” challenge, helping the NFC take a 14-7 lead over the AFC during Thursday’s opening night of the Pro Bowl Games.
With support from Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs in an NFL trivia contest, Goff demonstrated his passing expertise, hitting every target and more within 90 seconds, scoring 44 points for the NFC, five points ahead of teammate Sam Darnold from Minnesota.
Goff, Darnold, and Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield comfortably defeated the AFC’s quarterback trio of Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow, New England’s Drake Maye, and Pittsburgh’s Russell Wilson.
The passing competition was the main event on opening night, with the NFC also winning two out of three relay races, a “satisfying catches” skills challenge, and a game show called “helmet harmony,” which resembled “The Newlywed Game.”
