Lakers Announce Starting Lineup Change vs Clippers After Anthony Davis Trade
The LA Lakers have revamped their lineup ahead of their game against the LA Clippers after trading Anthony Davis. The Lakers made a bold move right before the NBA trade deadline, acquiring superstar Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the All-NBA big man.
Doncic, despite only playing six seasons, has already been named to the All-NBA First Team five times, establishing himself as a generational talent and leading Dallas to an NBA Finals appearance. However, the Mavericks decided to part ways with him despite his success.
For their first game since the trade, the Lakers are facing the Clippers on Tuesday. Although Doncic won’t be playing, the Lakers have still had to make significant changes to their lineup following the trade of Davis and Max Christie.
For Tuesday’s game, the Lakers will start Austin Reaves, Dorian Finney-Smith, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Jaxson Hayes.
The Lakers are adjusting to a new lineup, though further changes may be on the horizon. With Davis’ departure leaving a gap in the frontcourt, the team is expected to look for a big man before Thursday’s trade deadline.
As the Lakers enter a new era, the Clippers will get their first look at the revamped team, even though Doncic won’t be on the court yet.
