Kansas City Chiefs Share Update on Patrick Mahomes’ Injury Before Super Bowl 59
On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles released their initial injury reports ahead of Super Bowl 59. The two teams are scheduled to compete on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The Eagles had an unexpected addition to their injury report on Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter, in his second season, is dealing with an illness. The former Georgia star was limited in practice and missed his scheduled media session on Wednesday.
The Kansas City Chiefs reported three players on their injury list, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has been dealing with an ankle injury since Kansas City’s 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns on December 15, and was listed on the injury report last week for the same issue.
Mahomes rested during Week 18 and benefited from a bye in the wild card round, but he has remained on the injury report throughout the playoffs. However, the injury doesn’t seem to be impacting his performance on the field.
