Lions Acquire All-Pro Pass Rusher in Bold NFL Trade Projection
And It Comes at a Steep Price
I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too much, so take this piece for what it’s worth. (We both know exactly what that is.)
BUT. The Lions have been at the center of wild speculation this offseason. That’s what happens when you have Super Bowl dreams and end up with as many playoff wins as the Chicago Bears. Since their NFC Divisional round loss, the internet has been buzzing with ways to “fix” the Lions. It’s a nice gesture, really.

Among these theories, Bleacher Report may have proposed the most… interesting? Dramatic? Chaotic? In their latest collection of trade ideas that are almost certainly never happening, they suggest an absolute BLOCKBUSTER: the Lions trading for Raiders star Maxx Crosby in exchange for significant draft capital and a backup quarterback.
Bleacher Report Projects Lions to Make Bold Trade for Raiders’ Maxx Crosby
Raiders receive: 2025 first-round pick (No. 28 overall), 2026 first-round pick, QB Hendon Hooker
Lions receive: EDGE Maxx Crosby, 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 144 overall)
“With defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn departing, strengthening the defensive line could help new DC Kelvin Sheppard maintain stability. Acquiring Crosby would come at a huge cost—two first-round picks and a young quarterback in Hooker, who has starter potential, is a hefty price. However, this move could make the Lions the clear favorites to win the championship next season.”
In a way, I kind of respect Bleacher Report for crafting a somewhat plausible trade. It would take multiple first-round picks to pry Crosby away from the Raiders. Most internet trade ideas are completely unrealistic—not necessarily because of the concept, but because of the trade terms—so credit where it’s due, B/R got that part right.
Otherwise, yeah, I don’t know. It sounds crazy to say, but at this point, trading for Myles Garrett might be more realistic. Crosby is fiercely loyal to the Raiders, and with Pete Carroll’s hiring, he seems revitalized just when he was beginning to lose faith. So don’t hold your breath for a Crosby trade—unless you really want to. But if you’re running a Lions franchise in Madden, consider this your blueprint for landing your guy.
