Dan Campbell and Jared Goff may not have taken home honors at this year’s NFL Honors, but one Michigan resident did, earning recognition for her steadfast loyalty to the Detroit Lions.
Megan Stefanski, a Goetzville native, was awarded NFL Fan of the Year for her unwavering devotion to the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
The Lions chose Stefanski as their 2024 Fan of the Year, a distinction that quickly made her one of the most admired figures in the fanbase. Her schedule soon filled up with various commitments, including meet-and-greets and hosting tailgates with fellow Lions enthusiasts like Chef Geech.
In December, Stefanski was surprised by her friends, family, and Lions mascot Roary, who revealed that she would be attending Super Bowl LIX to represent the team.
What makes Stefanski’s dedication so special is her commitment to attending Lions games. A devoted fan, she drives over 10 hours and 700 miles from Goetzville to Ford Field for each home game.
Stefanski is also a member of the Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association and the Tailgating Hall of Fame. She has built a strong presence in the fan community by organizing weekly gatherings and coordinating travel groups for road games.
The NFL’s website also highlights that Stefanski organizes a charity event every summer at her family’s bar and grill, Yooperman’s, to benefit Hospice of the EUP, an event supported by fellow Lions fans who attend in droves. Last year, the event raised an impressive $30,000 over the weekend, following a $37,000 total the previous year.
