The Detroit Lions have brought in two new coordinators who will be responsible for furthering the development and maximizing the potential of the young talent on the active roster.
John Morton and Kelvin Sheppard face a challenging task ahead, yet they are fortunate to collaborate with an eager, young roster that aligns with the well-defined culture established by Dan Campbell and the front office.
A few individuals have shown some concern regarding the 2025 NFL season, owing to the complete revamp of the coaching staff.
Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn earned the locker room’s respect and successfully developed young players consistently. Consequently, Detroit experienced their most prosperous season ever in franchise history last year.
Following a disappointing outcome in the NFC Championship game in 2023, Campbell’s team achieved a 15-2 record in the 2024 regular season.
During his appearance on “The Squeeze” podcast, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson minimized the significance of losing Glenn and Johnson, who both took on NFL head coach roles for the first time.
“I have no concern about who they invite.” Clearly, retaining Dan (Campbell) is what everyone desires. However, coordinators and position coaches, it is irrelevant. “As long as the right players are in the locker room and we have those key guys on both offense and defense, you can put anyone in there to call the plays,” stated Hutchinson. “Ultimately, it will be the game-changers who execute those plays on Sundays.”
“As long as we maintain our core team and ensure everyone remains, we will continue to compete successfully.”
