Jason Kelce believes he won’t be growing his family any more.
The former NFL player, 37, guest-starred on the Feb. 21 episode of The Steam Room podcast, where he mentioned that he and his wife Kylie Kelce have discussed him having a vasectomy as they get ready to welcome their fourth child.
When questioned about whether he intends to continue having children until he has a son, Jason responded, “Well, you know, that’s not for me to decide, that’s not my call … but I believe Kylie is nearing the point of not wanting to have any more.”
He went on to say that Kylie’s pregnancy this time has been “a lengthy experience for her” and that they have talked about what they refer to as the “V-word” — a vasectomy.
“We’ll find out.” “This could be the one,” Jason remarked, continuing, “We’ve discussed the V-word; it’s been mentioned.” “I’m unsure if it will occur or not, but we’ll find out.”
“I don’t believe it’s just about wanting a boy because, ultimately, our chances aren’t very high.” “We need to abandon that thought,” he went on.
Jason and Kylie, both 32, revealed that they are anticipating the arrival of their fourth child, a daughter, in November 2024. The couple are already the parents of three daughters: Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, who will be 2 on Feb. 23.
Jason’s honest reply regarding broadening his family follows Kylie’s recent comments about fans eagerly wanting them to have a son together during her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
In the February 11 episode, Kylie revealed that the “most ridiculous rumor” she’d recently heard about herself is that she and her husband “attempted to have a son.”
She explained her reasoning for why she believes fans would circulate the rumor: “it’s because they truly desire us to have a son.”
Kylie acknowledged her feelings of initially wishing for a boy, stating, “There was a moment when we learned we were having our fourth girl that I thought, ‘We’ve always mentioned wanting four kids, maybe I won’t get to know a little Jason,’ which felt a bit strange.”
She also noted, “Four girls are preferable to four boys.” Whenever I encounter moms of boys, I think, ‘God bless you.’ Including my mother-in-law. “My mother-in-law has shared frightening tales with me.”
