LeBron James, Luka Doncic Make NBA History Not Seen in 37 Years

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers extended their strong form, earning a 111-102 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of their back-to-back stretch. This victory marked the Lakers’ fourth consecutive win, improving their record to 35-21 and moving them into the fourth seed in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games behind the second-place Memphis Grizzlies.

Once again, the Lakers were led by their star trio of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves, each delivering remarkable performances.

James led the team with 33 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists, while Doncic added 21 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Reaves also made a significant impact with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

In addition to the win, James, Doncic, and Reaves made history, becoming the first Lakers trio since 1988 to each record a 20/5/5 stat line in a game.

The Lakers set an early pace, leading by 16 points by the end of the first quarter. However, Minnesota fought back, cutting the lead to 11 at halftime. The Timberwolves increased the pressure in the fourth quarter, narrowing the gap to just three points.

With the game on the line, Doncic hit a crucial three-pointer, followed by a dominant performance from LeBron James in the final minutes, securing the win for LA.

The Lakers will aim to extend their winning streak when they face their cross-town rivals, the LA Clippers, on Friday night. The upcoming game will be another important test as the Lakers continue their push for home-court advantage in the playoffs.
