Coach K Talks About ‘Negativity’ and Jealousy Faced by Caitlin Clark
Renowned basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski noticed the negativity Caitlin Clark encountered upon entering the WNBA. Fortunately, the Indiana Fever standout managed the situation admirably.
Clark arrived in the WNBA as the most highly anticipated prospect ever. Naturally, with the immense hype surrounding her, there was also a lot of criticism. One of the most talked-about issues throughout the season was the claim that some of her peers were envious of the attention she received.
Many even connected this to multiple instances of players being particularly aggressive and physical with Clark
Despite this, Clark remained supportive of the league and never fueled the debate that placed her at odds with fellow players. As the season progressed, the jealousy narrative gradually faded.

Coach K, meanwhile, applauded Clark for letting her skills speak for themselves and not allowing the “negativity” and jealousy rumors to affect her.
“I was amazed at how she handled all the defenses, and then when she got into the WNBA, some of the negativity that was out there, or jealousy, and I think she has just been remarkable,” Krzyzewski shared at The Richmond Forum.
“She’s a really good basketball player,” he added.
Additionally, the 78-year-old coach praised Clark’s game at the event. Krzyzewski highlighted that her passing ability is what impresses him the most.
“The best thing she does is pass,” Coach K stated. “She’s a magical passer and has a great feel for the game. So what her coach did, I would have done exactly the same: Make sure she handles the ball a lot and helps elevate everyone around her.”
