Lakers Respond to Historic LeBron James Achievement
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have begun to establish good chemistry with their new teammate, Luka Doncic, after eight games since the trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks.
On Sunday, the Lakers secured their sixth consecutive victory with a 108-102 win over James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Before the game, LeBron had accumulated 999 career NBA regular-season wins since entering the league in 2003. With the victory over the Clippers, the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat star made history by becoming the fourth player in NBA history to achieve 1,000 career wins.
The Lakers celebrated this milestone with a post on X.
“1King.”
LeBron is now just one win away from tying San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan (1,001) for the third-most career wins in NBA history. The all-time record belongs to former Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who secured 1,074 wins. Former Boston Celtics center Robert Parrish ranks second with 1,014 wins.
While LeBron won’t break Abdul-Jabbar’s record this season, surpassing Duncan and Parrish for the third and second spots, respectively, remains a real possibility with 23 games left.
In the win over the Clippers, LeBron posted 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting, five rebounds, and nine assists. Doncic led the team with 29 points, six rebounds, and nine assists.
LeBron and the Lakers will return to the court Tuesday night against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, aiming for their seventh straight win. They will then face the New York Knicks on Thursday.
