When the Kansas City Chiefs brought Marquise Brown on board last offseason, it was regarded as a decision that would provide the offense with essential energy at the receiver spot.
Aside from Rashee Rice, who, together with Travis Kelce, comprised the Chiefs’ passing offense in 2023, Brown was brought in to introduce another dimension to the attack with his speed.
Nonetheless, a preseason injury caused Brown to miss most of the season, including the playoffs; he participated in only five games. Discuss a lost chance.
The Chiefs have now brought Marquise back on a one-year contract as they aim to repeat their success in 2025, and in this process, they hope he will become the offensive threat they expected last season.
And regarding PFF, Brown will add one element to the Chiefs’ offense.
Brown re-signs with Kansas City after injuries restricted him to only five games in 2024,” states PFF. “He will still only be 28 years old in the upcoming season, and the Chiefs will be hoping he can finally bring an explosive dimension to their passing game.”
Brown accumulated 45 and 46 yards during the regular season, followed by a 35-yard performance in the AFC Championship game, and then, similar to many of his teammates, had a disappointing Super Bowl.
However, it was Brown’s initial year with his new squad, and even though he practiced with them throughout the offseason, developing that chemistry with actual NFL action is vital, and he failed to achieve that.
Returning for another attempt, the Chiefs are optimistic that Brown’s second chance will surpass the first, and if so, Kansas City’s offense will appear more dynamic than it did last season.
