BYU Lands Commitment from 4-Star Receiver, Beats Out SEC, Pac-12 Powers

4-Star Tight End Chooses BYU Football Over Top National Programs

BYU football scored a major recruiting victory on Monday, securing a commitment from four-star tight end Brock Harris. The Cougars faced tough competition, prevailing over Georgia, Oregon, and Michigan to land the standout prospect. After a strong season last year, BYU is making strides in recruiting, and wins like this could help the program become a regular powerhouse.

“BREAKING: Four-Star TE Brock Harris has Committed to BYU, he tells me for @on3recruits,” Hayes Fawcett announced. “The 6’6”, 240-pound tight end from St. George, UT picked BYU over Oregon, Michigan, and UGA. He’s now the 3rd highest-ranked commit in BYU’s modern recruiting history.”

Harris is rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports. He ranks as the #56 overall player in the 2026 class, the #5 tight end nationally, and the top player in Utah. Harris currently plays at Pine View High School in St. George, Utah.

“Harris is one of the top tight end prospects in the country and is extremely versatile,” his scouting report notes. “He’s a complete tight end who can contribute in all phases. While he’s an impressive pass catcher, he’s also a powerful in-line blocker. He can line up in multiple spots — as a slot receiver, out wide, or in the backfield. He runs crisp routes, has reliable hands, and aggressively attacks the football.”

Harris should contribute early at BYU and may not have to wait long to see the field, potentially making an immediate impact in the Cougars’ offense.

“He’s great at making catches through contact and uses his body to create space from defenders,” the report adds. “He’s a physical player who doesn’t shy from contact and can break tackles after the catch. While not an elite athlete in terms of explosiveness and speed yet, improvements in those areas could elevate his game. He’s already built like a college player and is among the most game-ready tight ends in the 2026 class.”

This is a significant pickup for BYU and could be a major step forward in building long-term recruiting success. Head coach Kalani Sitake continues to raise the program’s profile, and the future remains promising.
