Breaking: Dallas Cowboys sign 38-game veteran player from the Green Bay Packers.

For the 2024 season, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys want to be among the best NFC teams. The Packers defeated Dallas in their playoff matchup of the two teams in 2024. That hasn’t stopped the two teams’ extremely high expectations from this season, either.

It turns out that the Cowboys believe a former linebacker from the Packers could contribute to those hopes.

The Dallas Cowboys Sign Former Defensive End for the Green Bay Packers

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk claims that: Defensive end Jonathan Garvin should be able to receive another chance in the NFL with a strong UFL season. Garvin’s agents told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that their client is working out for the Cowboys.

Garvin played a part in the Birmingham Stallions’ strong defense in the UFL this season, which shut out San Antonio in the UFL title game. Garvin, a 2020 seventh-round selection by the Packers, played three seasons as a reliable special teams player in Green Bay. He might make the NFL roster this season thanks to his pass-rushing and special teams skills.

Jonathan Garvin was a three-season Green Bay player.

The former Miami seventh-round pick stayed with the Packers for the first three years of his career. He made the biggest defensive contribution to his team in 2021, when he played 40 percent of the defensive snaps and finished with 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks. The lineman’s defensive snap count was halved in the 2022 campaign, and the Packers terminated him in July of last year.

Despite not being hired by the NFL in 2023, Garvin did make a comeback with the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions. He had a standout season for the eventual league champions with 20 tackles and 3.5 sacks. At twenty-four, Garvin still has a lot of potential.
