The Heat General Manager Describes the Reasons Behind the Contract Extension for Bam Adebayo.

The Miami Heat and Bam Adebayo reached a three-year, $166 million contract deal last week, which will keep Adebayo with the team through the 2028–2029 campaign.

The three-time All-Star player has a huge contract, and Heat general manager Andy Elisburg believes it makes perfect sense.

Speaking on the deal, Elisburg stated that Adebayo is “the kind of person and player that you want to build around as being the foundation of your team” during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

He said that since signing Adebayo in 2017, the team has been impressed with him and plans to continue working with him for a very long time.
At just 26, Elisburg pointed out that Adebayo is still a young man.

He has been in the playoffs numerous times during his seven years in the league, and he has also made multiple trips to the Finals.

Though he is not quite thirty, he has a ton of postseason experience.
Adebayo has a natural skill that cannot be taught, according to Elisburg, and he gets along well with others. However, that alone is worth a lot.

Lately, there have been a lot of inquiries concerning the Heat, particularly in relation to Jimmy Butler.
