I respect him a lot Pep Guardiola now chooses a great compliment for a premier league man
During his time at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola often praised Liverpool. Whether it’s concerns over the threat of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, or more recently Darwin Nunez, Pep clearly rates the Reds very highly. But there is one person he respects above all: Jurgen Klopp. The City manager has previously spoken at length about his views on Jurgen and again gushed about the Liverpool boss when asked by Sky Sports to name the “toughest” manager he has faced in his career. “Jurgen Klopp,” the Spaniard immediately replied. “First, we faced each other a thousand million times, Dortmund and here. Second, because he beat me a lot and it was always a challenge to do it again and again. “I respect him a lot because his teams always play Dortmund, Mainz before and now Liverpool. It’s so attractive and so positive. “We respect each other, at least from my point of view I respect him a lot. Of course we have arguments and I don’t like to beat him, but he was my biggest rival in terms of how many times we play, how hard it was and how much we enjoy beat them Guardiola is furious with Jürgen Ever since that question was put to Guardiola, the answer has always been Klopp. No manager has beaten a legendary coach more than Liverpool’s ‘Normal One’. Without Jurgen, City’s 2018 Premier League dominance would be complete. So far, the Citizens have won five of their last six titles, but Liverpool have ensured that two have come so hard for them. He also kept them out of the deciding stages of the Champions League and FA Cup, so it’s no wonder Pep feels this way about our Jürgen. Some may argue this, but Pep has a very legitimate argument for being the game’s greatest manager. Jurgen should too, although it’s hard to argue that the City Manager’s trophy would elevate him above the Liverpool boss in the eyes of many. Despite that, without Klopp, Guardiola would have won even more trophies. Having already played one epic battle this season, the Reds look set to start 2023/24. to press Man City again. It’s time to be a thorn in the side again.
