In the NFL, Martavis Bryant will have another opportunity.

Despite not having played in the NFL since suiting up for the Raiders for eight games in the 2018 season, the veteran wide out was signed by the Washington Commanders on Tuesday.

The team declared that kicker Ramiz Ahmed was cut to make place for the 32-year-old wide receiver.

Following his selection by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Bryant demonstrated productivity by receiving 57.8% of his catches for 1,917 yards and 17 touchdowns.

However, he was suspended for the entirety of the 2016 season and four games in 2015 for breaking the league’s drug abuse policy.

After playing in lower levels with the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League and the Vegas Vipers of the XFL, he caught 19 receptions for 266 yards with the Raiders in 2018.

In addition, he signed contracts with the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Elks, however he never donned a uniform.

In 2023, he participated in practice squad duties for the Cowboys but did not play in any games.

Now, in a supporting role with Washington behind starters Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, he will try to make an incredible recovery.
