The NFL is back, and this weekend, at the recently renamed Huntington Bank Field, one of its most eagerly awaited Week 1 matches pits the Dallas Cowboys against the Cleveland Browns on the road. Not only that, but Tom Brady is making his Fox broadcast debut.
The Cowboys have dominated the news this offseason, as usual, but perhaps not for the right reasons. Financials and new contracts have been the main concerns; nothing too significant, like player suspensions or worse, has occurred.
However, Dak Prescott may be nearing the end of his career as he continues to negotiate a new contract with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. One of the team’s star players, whose contract was a hot topic this summer, has already been signed by Jones and the group. They agreed to a four-year, $136 million contract agreement with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. But this could also be another indication that Prescott’s time wearing a Dallas uniform is running out.
Should this be the final season under Prescott’s leadership, they kick off their farewell tour against the Browns, who ought to be a formidable opponent. Although they were eliminated in their opening games, both teams are fresh off postseason trips.
The Cowboys team of this year has a lot to prove after losing a number of key players in the offseason. Given how many people are against them this season, it will be imperative for this club to get off to a strong start. That being said, let’s get started with some audacious predictions for the Cowboys’ Week 1 matchup with the Browns.
