Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, did himself no favours when he threatened to remove two radio hosts in the Dallas region in response to a series of enquiries that placed him on the defensive after his team’s 3-3 start. Jones was questioned on Tuesday morning on 105.3 The Fan’s “Shan and RJ” program about his failure to sign any of the top free agents available this offseason and his overall inability to improve the Cowboys roster in spite of the loss of several elite players, including cornerback Stephon Gilmore, offensive tackle Tyron Smith, running back Tony Pollard, centre Tyler Biadasz, defensive end Dorance Armstrong, and centre Tyron Smith.

It didn’t set well with either of them that he began blaming others, acting more antagonistic, and threatening to terminate the show’s two hosts instead of accepting responsibility. On Wednesday morning’s broadcast, Shan Shariff declared, “It’s really insulting, really demeaning, really insulting and again, out of nowhere.” “We have done 14 years of interviews with this man. Though it didn’t bother me, it was like, “You know what? “Screw you, man,” RJ Choppy continued.

Even while Jones claimed to pay both hosts, Shariff took careful to emphasise that, despite his show broadcasting on the Cowboys flagship station, which grants him and Choppy particular advantages like access to Jones, head coach Mike McCarthy, and specific players, Audacy, not Jones, signs his checks. Jones apparently behaved as angrily as he did during their interview because he thought he was paying Shariff and Choppy. “I don’t need the guys I’m paying to question me if I’m going to be interrogated by the tribunal. I can accept it from supporters as well as from other individuals,” Jones said to The Athletic. “…the incorrect people were asking the questions. I could have given a different response, though, if those seated there had been really football enthusiasts or knowledgeable individuals.”
