Liverpool should hire 44-year-old PL boss if Jurgen Klopp leaves, according to Danny Murphy.

Danny Murphy  has named Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi as Jurgen Klopp’s preferred successor at Liverpool. Speaking on talkSPORT today, Murphy discussed Germany’s recent interest in signing Jurgen Klopp. The Liverpool boss received interest from the national team after Hansi Flick was sent off in the 4-1 defeat to Japan this week.
Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has confirmed that his client will not be leaving Liverpool anytime soon.
But if the day comes when Klopp decides his future is away from Anfield, Murphy wants Liverpool to consider signing Roberto De Zerbi. Murphy backs De Zerbi over Klopp
Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy confirmed that he believes Klopp will stay at Liverpool for the time being despite Germany’s interest.
However, the expert put forward the name of De Zerbi if the German boss should go further. “I think De Zerbi is perfect,” he said. “Then he’ll be done. I thought about it for probably the last 60 seconds and that’s what I came up with [he laughed]. “He plays great football, he looks like a strong character, he learns his business with Brighton in this league and he does it brilliantly. “And if Jurgen, who he is not, for some strange reason decided that it was a good option for him , I don’t see a better candidate.”

“Things change very quickly in football,” added Murphy. “So next year the flavor of the month could be someone else. But I think he is real, there is something about him. “Even after meeting with him, he has real weight and presence and I love playing in his team. He seems able to adapt.
“I don’t know, we’ll see. But I don’t see Klopp going for a long time. He just has this new influx of players that he seems very excited about and developing.”
Liverpool clearly have no reason to worry about Klopp’s immediate future. But De Zerbi did a brilliant job at Brighton. The Italian guided the Seagulls to the Europa League qualifiers last season and is back on the flyer this time around. Of course, replacing Klopp at Anfield at any time is no easy task for any manager. But the early signs of De Zerbi’s managerial career in the Premier League suggest he would be an excellent candidate when Liverpool’s dreaded day arrives.
