The 17-year-old Chelsea youngster was spotted in first-team training ahead of the PL clash with Bournemouth.
Chelsea youngster Michael Golding has been spotted training with the first team ahead of their return to the Premier League this weekend. In the photo posted on the 5th Stand app, the youngster can be seen training with Cole Palmer in the background. It is normal for a group of young players to train with the starters when a large number of them represent their country.
That’s what happened last week when Kiano Dyer was one of many youngsters to do just that. The 16-year-old has only become a full-time scholarship player at the club this season, so his appearance in first-team training is already a huge sign that he will be a class act. Golding was spotted at the team’s first training session
But now, training as a player alongside the entire first team is a whole new level, and who was there became clear when the club released images of the session yesterday.
With Palmer in the background, Golding can be seen working just three days before the Blues face Bournemouth in the Premier League. The 17-year-old is now very experienced with the under-18s and has already played his first game for the under-21s.
Regardless, the experience itself is probably just as important, if not more important, to him becoming a better midfielder. If he continues training today, he will be joined by two of the most expensive players in his position. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo did not participate in yesterday’s session because they returned from South America for the qualifying tournament of the World Cup.
