‘Fact’ – BBC pundit says Liverpool man changed game after dreadful first half against Wolves
Liverpool did not impress in the same way they did before the international break and put in a poor first half performance against Wolves. Jurgen Klopp cut a naturally fierce figure at times in the first 45 games, but he was credited with turning things around at Molineux after the break. Jermain Jenas, reporting for BBC Sport, said: “There’s no doubt Liverpool are on their way to the top of the table at the moment. All the changes Jurgen Klopp made resulted in a really good performance from Liverpool in the second half.
Luis Diaz was brought on at half-time to replace a rather tired Alexis MacAllister and the Colombian went very close to the net after a great pass from Andy Robertson. The additions of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott to goalscorer Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota have proved even more effective, with the latter playing a big part in regaining control in the middle of the park alongside a rejuvenated Dominik Szoboszlai.
Alas, the young Englishman’s final effort of the afternoon, which set off a glorious away day, went into his own net, although few will bemoan the stunning comeback from Klopp’s men. A strong performance throughout to take the three points and take us to the top of the table so far.
