Elliott’s hitting off the bench was excellent again. The former Fulham youngster has looked at his best this season and Jurgen Klopp is pleased. And taking to social media immediately after the game, Carragher took to his X account to praise Elliott, who he described as “brilliant”. Elliott, who is said to earn a modest £40,000-a-week at Anfield, has proved to be a great addition for Liverpool since they snapped him up from Fulham.
And if he can score goals like he did today, he could be a very valuable player for the Reds as the season progresses. RTK view: Shows its class
There have always been glimpses of Harvey Elliott’s quality and it looks like this year could be the year he shows even more. Breaking into the Liverpool XI regularly was always going to be a difficult task for Elliott. But if he can keep up what he’s doing and force Klopp’s hand, he could be a regular. Elliott is still a young man with a long career ahead of him. But this looks like a big season for him and one where he can well and truly show why the club brought him in.
