With the arrival of Liverpool 2.0, Gravenberch gives Klopp something others don’t

Liverpool fan Morgan O’Sullivan from Florida gives us his take on all the latest Reds talking points ahead of Leicester, including Jurgen Klopp’s new-look squad. Manchester City knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup last season but will return to the competition to reclaim the trophy they won in 2022. Manchester United won it last year and won the cup over Newcastle United. We asked Liverpool fan Morgan O’Sullivan from Florida a few questions about the Reds ahead of the game, including how the new signings fit into Jurgen Klopp’s 2.0 side. Leicester City today. Do you expect a similar team to the one that faced LASK? Are you sure to win? Yes, hopefully we will call again tonight about the changes. It’s amazing how a few good results can change the whole culture of a club. We have gone from last season’s disappointment and summer uncertainty to growing belief in this season’s championship challenge.
From a club that has depleted its midfield, we now have options all over the pitch and young players are coming in at the same time. While the summer changes were seen as a revolution, this continued development of our squad fills us with high hopes for the season and the years to come. Will we win tonight? We should, but historically Liverpool have always found Leicester to be a bit of a chubby team, so be careful. We should look again at what Ryan Gravenberch can offer Liverpool at Anfield today. What have you done of him so far and what do you expect from him in the future?
Gravenberch has shown great energy so far and is able to get up and down the court. He brings mobility that our other signings may not have and should be a great addition to the team. It will be interesting to see how he blends into the team and whether it will be a gradual transition over the course of the season or whether he will be pushed straight into the squad in a few weeks. Dominik Szoboszlai has been exceptional so far. What have you made of him and Alexis MacAllister as Liverpool players so far?
Both players made great starts. While Szoboszlai gets all the attention, Mac Alister is slowly falling by the wayside. He was asked to cover a number of places in the opening weeks and although he wasn’t always at his best, he added another dimension to the team. I still think the manager is trying to identify our best midfield and once he realizes that I expect both signings to go even higher. We return to the League Cup tonight and although it is ultimately the bottom prize on the totem pole, our win is vital as it helps the likes of Gravenberch, Caoimhín Kelleher, Ben Doak and others.
