The “irreplaceable” Chelsea player will undergo further injury tests today and will not play against Burnley.

Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk is now an injury doubt ahead of this weekend’s game against Burnley. This is according to a report in the newspaper The Evening Standard. They claim Mykhailo Mudryk will be assessed today (Wednesday) with further medical tests due to a suspected injury problem.
The 22-year-old Chelsea winger is understood to have been substituted at half-time in the 2-0 Premier League defeat by Fulham on Monday night as his fitness remained unclear. Now the Ukraine international has been given a “doubt” to play at Burnley on Saturday afternoon. Mudryk scored his first Chelsea goal in Monday’s win over Fulham, showing great skill and composure for a left-footed player. This comes at a time when he has started and looks menacing with some of his performances.
It seems typical of this group of players’ bad luck that injury strikes just when there is something to be happy about. We are waiting for an official statement on Mudryk’s availability to play for Burnley, but we certainly don’t want to risk him before the October international break. From the outside, it definitely feels like a cohesive team, with players all pushing each other to succeed. Mudryk has the individual attributes and raw potential to be a player if all the pieces of the puzzle come together. We are increasingly confident that Mauricio Pochettino is the right manager to follow his journey as well. If the Ukrainian speedster is unavailable against Burnley, the door could be open for both Ian Maatsen and Raheem Sterling.
