Liverpool are now looking to sign a £17m striker who is even quicker than Vinicius Jr
During the summer, Liverpool acquired some excellent young players from the Bundesliga. The likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai look like they could be stars for years to come, and now the Reds could bring in another young star from Germany. Indeed, according to Substack’s Christian Falk, the Reds are interested in Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim. The German striker is only 21 years old, but has been making waves in the Bundesliga recently.
Falk says the youngster is certainly on Liverpool’s shortlist and could join the Reds for as little as €20m (£17m). “Another name on Liverpool’s list is Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim – I’ve heard he’s definitely on the list because he brings something very interesting to Liverpool! His top speed this season was 35.45km/h. That’s very good for germany too he is right behind leroy the fastest germany player healthily his contract at hoffenheim runs until 2025 and i heard he has a release clause he will cost a bit more to english clubs but only 20m euros to German clubs. So you see, Liverpool is looking at the Bundesliga again, Falk wrote.
“He is a coachable player, he can play as a striker or as a winger, which would be useful for Liverpool’s rotations in the front line. I find him interesting. He could be the next German international, maybe not in future matches, but he is in the squad. He is not very expensive, which suits Liverpool’s business model. However, remember that Brentford and Everton’s interest in the player is specific.
Signing a young striker from Liverpool is exciting, but having a player of Beier’s quality in this Liverpool squad can be really scary. As Falk notes, Beier’s top speed this season was 35.45 km/h, which is even faster than Vinicius Jr.
If we’ve learned anything from Jurgen Klopp over the years, it’s that speedy forwards can work alongside Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane, who thrive in that side and use their pace to open up defences. Beier could be the next star on that montage and it’s scary to think what the youngster could become under Jurgen Klopp.
