Liverpool owners, FSG, are given a final push to help a “sensible plan” for £4 billion

Liverpool owners, FSG, are given a final push to help a “sensible plan” for £4 billion

LeBron James, a partner of the owners of Liverpool Fenway Sports Group, made his intentions clear again.
LeBron James, a partner of Fenway Sports Group, which owns Liverpool, was recognized as the second most marketable athlete in the world.
SportsPro Media, in partnership with North Star Solutions Group, named its 2023 roster. And NBA icon James moved up from fourth to second – just behind Lionel Messi.
The LA Lakers star won four NBA championships during his career and became the most productive player in league history last year. Many fans agree that only Michael Jordan surpasses him as the greatest player of all time.
James has been a minority investor in Liverpool since 2011, when he bought a 2 percent stake. However, in 2021, the 38-year-old swapped his stake in the Reds for a 1% stake in the Boston-based group – before increasing his stake and becoming a lifetime partner of FSG last year.
FSG also owns Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, the National Hockey League’s Pittsburgh Penguins and recently purchased the Boston franchise in the new TGL golf league, which is managed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. However, it has hardly been a secret that an NBA franchise in Las Vegas is attractive to FSG. James also talked about wanting to manage a Sin City team if the NBA ever expands. NBA commissioner Adam Silver previously acknowledged that the league could open in 2025.
The Phoenix Suns were sold in December 2022 for approximately $4 billion. The price reportedly could be for the fee paid to create a new franchise, with a Seattle-based team also in contention. All current NBA teams would buy an equal share of all buyouts. With James’ stock as high as ever despite being in the twilight of his playing career, it only bodes well for FSG and Liverpool in the long term.
During a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas earlier this month, James said, “It makes sense. “Obviously, you’ve got the Raiders here, you’ve got the [Golden] Knights here, you have the Aces here. F1 is coming to you soon. All-Star Weekend was a few times,” he said. I think adding an NBA franchise in this city would just add momentum.”
