Interesting: Liverpool have spoken of a £50m signing who is even faster than Mo Salah
Victor Osimhen is one of the biggest names in the transfer market in the coming months.
The Nigerian striker is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Europe at the moment and is apparently looking to leave Napoli after some problems with the Serie A champions.
As you can imagine, a number of Premier League clubs are on red alert over Osimhen’s availability and according to 90Min Liverpool have held preliminary talks to sign the £50m man.
It’s interesting to say the least.
Osimhen would certainly fit what Jürgen Klopp wants in a striker. He is strong, clinical, intelligent and energetic. In fact, his pace is scary at times.
According to The Speeds Database, Osimhen is actually faster than Mohamed Salah and any Liverpool fan will tell you that makes him one of the fastest players in Europe.
Of course, with Salah constantly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool may soon need a new look and Osimhen is certainly an option worth exploring.
It would be interesting to see how Liverpool line up to sign Osimhen. With Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo already battling it out for Liverpool’s starting centre-forward position, there is already plenty of competition and Osimhene would only add to that.
Fortunately, all three of Jota, Gakpo and Nunez are versatile enough to occasionally play on either wing or, in Gakpo’s case, in midfield, so there should be room for all these forwards in Liverpool’s squad.
Osimhene certainly has a big step ahead of him in the near future and there seems to be a small chance that he could play his football at Anfield for many years to come.
Definitely worth watching.
