Kylian Mbappe’s future remains up in the air as Paris Saint-Germain are determined not to lose the superstar for free despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The France international opted not to activate a one-year extension to his current contract in the summer, meaning he can go wherever he wants at the end of the season. It caused a lot of drama for the Ligue 1 champions before the start of the season when the club banned Mbappe from their pre-season tour because of his decision.
Real Madrid have always been favorites for the 24-year-old and Mbappe’s most likely target next summer, but according to a new report, Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea are ready to make a bold move for the striker in January.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to try their luck for Mbappe in the winter transfer window, via Le 10 Sport, and are ready to offer “very significant offers” for the superstar. Both clubs have been linked with the PSG star in the past and a January move is highly unlikely as the French club do not want to lose him mid-season.
It would have to be a huge bid for that to happen, and it’s hard to see right now. Mbappe is likely to leave on a free next summer or sign a short-term deal so PSG can cash in on him, with the Frenchman wearing the white of Real Madrid one way or another.
