I don’t want to write off Everton, but Liverpool should buy the best player
One player really stood out to me during the Merseyside derby on Saturday – and he wasn’t wearing the famous red shirt.
There weren’t many in Liverpool’s line-up to really take the game to Sean Dyche’s side, although in the end it didn’t matter much as Mohamed Salah did his best to score twice. despite not being at his best.
Salah may have been the headliner, but Jarrad Branthwaite stood out the most at Anfield. I think he is a very good player. I first saw him play in a mini-derby at Finch Farm a few years ago and that’s when he caught my eye. He played successfully away to PSV Eindhoven last season and looks like a real talent.
I don’t want to upset any Everonians by saying this, and whether Liverpool would buy from Everton is another matter because it rarely happens, but I definitely think he has the ability to go on and become England’s number one and starter. .
It was interesting that Jürgen Klopp even spoke to him at the pre-match press conference before the game. He is likely to be on the radar of other teams as well, with Manchester United already mentioned as a possible target, but what they do with him is up to Everton. Branthwaite also recently signed a new contract with Everton. I look at Everton’s squad and#039; and if you want to progress as a club, you have to keep the players that way. Only time will tell if Everton can pull it off or not.
A left centre-back is something we wanted during the summer transfer window, but didn’t get in the end. If we were to trade for Branthwaite, he would probably cost a significant amount thanks to the English premium we see so often in the game. Getting to Liverpool would be hard for the boy, getting to Stanley Park will take some work. I don’t want to shock anyone, I emphasize again, but I think he has a really bright future.
