Liverpool have been given a serious signal to make a move for the Brazilian side with a £52m release clause

Liverpool have reportedly been given the green light to replace Sao Paulo youngster Lucas Beraldo in the January transfer window. The Brazilian defender is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in all of South America and recent reports suggest that Liverpool are interested in signing Beraldo. With a release clause of £52m, the left-footed centre-back will not come cheap if Liverpool move for Beraldo in the January market. However, according to 90min, Sao Paul are now open to offers for the 20-year-old defender, with Liverpool looking to sign a long-term replacement for the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip. Defense should be Liverpool’s top transfer priority in the winter window as the Reds need quality depth in 2024. And the signing of Beraldo could provide just that, as the centre-back is exactly the type of player who could make a breakthrough at Liverpool if the deal is completed in January. Liverpool should sign Lucas Beraldo on the cheap Beraldo is clearly a player under scrutiny from Liverpool’s recruitment team and this update should inspire the Reds to make a move for the Brazilian youngster. However, with a release clause worth £52m, it is clear that the Anfield side should look to negotiate with Sao Paulo to sign Beraldo on the cheap in the January window. The Reds are adept at war room signings in the transfer market, as seen with Alexis Mac Allister this summer. And Beraldo could be the next example of a defender breaking through at Liverpool if a deal is completed for Sao Paulo in the coming weeks.
