Jurgen Klopp believes the 19-year-old Liverpool youngster has exceed the under-21s.

 

Jurgen Klopp has now hinted that Kaide Gordon has grown into Liverpool’s youth ranks despite being sidelined through injury for the past 18 months. The 19-year-old winger was once regarded as one of the Reds’ most exciting youngsters since moving to Anfield from Derby County at the age of 16. When he made his debut at the same age, there was real excitement about Gordon’s future at Liverpool, although a nightmare injury has kept the striker out of training for the past two seasons. However, Gordon is now back and could feature in tonight’s UEFA Europa League final and Klopp suggested the winger has outgrown youth football when speaking to the press. Asked about the striker’s injury history, the Liverpool manager said: “Unlucky with some of our big chances. “They were already a bit too good for the physical form [of U-21 football]. We thought they could help us and everyone was in the right direction, then the body said no, stop. That happened a few times with Kai . . . ” Liverpool should really consider signing Kaide Gordon on loan in January Gordon has lost two valuable seasons in his career while injured at the same time, and there is a good chance that the winger is now not reaching the heights that many expect from the youngster. However, Gordon’s career could get back on track with a January loan deal, with a number of clubs likely to be interested in signing the Liverpool youngster next month. We certainly know how good Gordon can become based on the few quality glimpses we’ve seen of the former Derby prodigy when he’s fit and healthy. And a loan spell at a League One or even Championship side could do wonders for Gordon and his development, with the forward still showing plenty of promise.
