Olam was named the Dally M centre of the year in 2019 after winning an NRL premiership with the Melbourne Storm in 2020.
His countryman and former Melbourne Storm 1999 NRL premiership champion, Marcus Bai, is the first Australian local rugby league player to play in the NRL without having played junior rugby league in Australia.
