Green Bay Packers Add Incredible Piece For Jordan Love And The Offense
The Green Bay Packers are looking to do the improbable: compete for a Super Bowl just one full season after they traded away four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers.
To help with that, the Packers decided to bring in some serious help on the offensive side of the ball.
The Green Bay Packers Bring In Some Serious Reinforcement For Jordan Love And The Offense
With their first of two third-round picks, the Green Bay Packers chose USC running back MarShawn Lloyd. The choice immediately earned high praise from NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, who called him the best running back in this draft class.
“I just think he had a very good start in the SEC,” said GM Brian Gutekunst after Friday’s second-round, “was a really good back in the SEC, and I think it was just his overall ability not only as a runner but the ability to catch the ball, I think he’s got some return ability.
“He’s a 220-pound man. He’s packed in a tighter frame but like his ability kinda to make people miss, he’s got a little juice to him and, again, he’s 220 pounds, he breaks tackles. We think his best football’s ahead of him, and we’re really excited to get him as well.
The Packers Running Back Room Has Completely Changed In One Off-Season
Obviously moving on from Aaron Jones was a tough pill to swallow. The former Packers running back was beloved by all Packers fans. To add insult to injury, the 29-year-old signed with the Minnesota Vikings just a few days later.
However, the optimism for the rushing attack in Green Bay is still sky high. 26-year-old Josh Jacobs, who led the league in rushing yards in 2022, signed a four-year deal with Green Bay. They also brought back battering ram AJ Dillon on a one year “prove it” deal.
Now the addition of MarShawn Lloyd creates another dynamic for the Packers’ rushing attack.
