Next season, Russell Wilson will be tossing the ball to another former Super Bowl champion.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller as a free agent, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday. With Miller’s one-year contract, the Steelers are taking a chance on him.

Miller, 26, gained notoriety during his time spent between 2019 and 22 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was particularly effective in 2020, when the Bucs won the Super Bowl after he caught 33 catches for 501 yards and three touchdowns. Miller is well-known for his quickness and his potential as a deep threat, despite his occasional difficulties with drops and blocking.

Despite playing in all 17 games, Miller only received 11 targets in a disjointed passing scheme during his tenure with the Atlanta Falcons last season. However, he got to know Arthur Smith, the new offensive coordinator for the Steelers and former Falcons head coach, there. Now that Miller has joined Wilson and the Steelers as a new secondary offensive weapon, they can help replace some of the pass-catching brilliance that left this offseason.
