Trevor Keegan signs his rookie contract
On Saturday, guard Trevor Keegan, the team’s fifth-round pick (172nd overall) out of Michigan, inked his four-year rookie contract.
Here are five things to know about Keegan:
1. Trevor Keegan was the No. 1 high school recruit in the state of Illinois as a senior. His mother, Amanda, grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
“I believe that Michigan is the only state that stands out from the others. Particularly with Coach (Jim) Harbaugh (the former head coach of Michigan) around,” Keegan remarked. “Our schedule was similar to the NFL’s. It was an enterprise. You receive coaching and instruction while you are a student at Michigan. That was an excellent programme that we had. Our coaches did a fantastic job getting us ready. Our strategy, in my opinion, is similar to an NFL scheme, and learning how to implement these Zooms and other things was a really simple task for me.
“I think Michigan just makes you stand out because of the very similar calls and communication. We played everyone in the competition, like you mentioned. I was able to play for Penn State, Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State. I’m ecstatic about the chance, and I know these guys in the NFL are all freaks, so I’ll keep working my tail off. I’m just incredibly happy about this chance. I’m eager to visit Philadelphia.”
2. Keegan was one of the “red star” players identified by the Eagles’ personnel staff in the pre-draft process.
Alan Wolking, Director of Player Personnel, said, “He’s tough and smart.” He leans more towards mauling people. He will fight you on every rep while standing in close quarters. He’s a significant part of the brand that Michigan football has. Thus, we enjoy a lot of the play style aspects of his game. “We’re going to stay in here and we’re going to fight until the whistle and it’s going to be like that for every rep,” is how I believe the fans will perceive this player. He will blend in. Generally speaking, all of these guys are at the top of our scale when you consider this group as a whole.

3. Keegan was a senior captain on the 2023 Michigan team that won the National Championship. Keegan was also a three-year starter on an offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award as the top line in college football in back-to-back seasons (2021-22).
4. Keegan was wearing a DeSean Jackson jersey during his introductory video conference call with reporters shortly after being drafted in the fifth round.
5. Throughout his more than 2,200 snaps as a collegiate player, the two-time All-Big Ten guard was only penalised six times. In 44 career games, he gave up just three sacks, and in 2023, he gave up none.
