Reese began her collegiate basketball journey with the Maryland Terrapins, marking the highest-ranked recruit in the program’s history. However, her freshman season in 2020–21 was disrupted due to a fractured right foot.

 

Despite this setback, she earned third-team All-American honors from the Associated Press during her sophomore year.
In her junior season, Reese transferred to LSU where she achieved unanimous first-team All-American status and played a pivotal role in leading LSU to its inaugural national championship.
She was honored as the Most Outstanding Player of the championship. Reese also made history by setting the NCAA single-season record for double-doubles and the SEC single-season record for rebounds. As a senior, she was recognized as the SEC Player of the Year and earned All-American status.
The Chicago Sky selected Reese as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. On the international stage, she contributed to the United States winning a silver medal at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.
