WVU Police respond to burglary near campus, issue notice to students
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) – The West Virginia University Police issued a community notice after a recent burglary at a home near the Morgantown downtown campus.
Police responded to a home on Price Street at approximately 5:27 a.m. Sunday morning for a reported burglary in progress.
It is believed two suspects entered the home through an unlocked window, police said. The victim reported waking up and hearing people inside the home talking, and multiple items were reported stolen.
Police searched in and around the home when they arrived but were unable to locate the suspects, according to the notice. However, surveillance video captured both suspects in the area during the time of the burglary.
Officers are actively reviewing information as they work to locate or identify the suspects, they said.

In light of the burglary, WVU officials said they are committed to providing a safe campus for the protection of the community and remind students to always lock their windows and doors.
