NRL Sea Eagles v Storm LIVE: Storm score on half time
Well much of that first half was all the Sea Eagles, yet somehow the Storm head into the sheds down only six points.
Eli Katoa crossed with under two minutes remaining to give his side some momentum into the second half.
“That’s so Melbourne. They just hang in, and then they get one opportunity and they have nailed it,” Nine caller Mathew Thompson said.
Eli Katoa got the Storm on the board in the dying minutes of a scrappy first half against the Sea Eagles.
NRL Sea Eagles v Storm LIVE: Talau extends Sea Eagles’ lead
Tommy Talau has extended the Sea Eagles’ lead. He was brought down short of the line, but the wet grass – and the weight and momentum from Jahrome Hughes on his back – took him in goal.
Referee Ashley Klein sent it upstairs as no try, but it was overturned. Hurrah!
The kick was no good though – the lead stays as 12.

NRL 2024: ‘Desperation tackle’ lands Maroons veteran in hot water
Maroons veteran Valentine Holmes will sleep nervously on Friday night after he was sent to the sin bin for a hip drop on Panthers-bound Tiger Isaiah Papali’i.
Papali’i was surging to the line late in the first half when he was brought down by Holmes and Maroons teammate Tom Dearden.
The weight of both Dearden and Holmes came down on Papali’i’s ankle, and he played no further part in his side’s 42-28 loss in Townsville. Cameras later caught him on the side line in a moon boot.

NRL Cowboys v Tigers LIVE: Feldt double
The Cowboys have sent an early warning to a struggling Tigers line as Feldt capitalises on a kick bomb at the end of their attacking set.
Tigers winger Solomon Alaimalo has dropped the high ball, despite being uncontested.

“This is ominous for the Cowboys,” Fox Sports caller Warren Smith said.
“This could finish at absolutely anything… It’s already 20-nil.”

Barrett has taken the reins after the Eels sacked Brad Arthur on Monday.
The former Sea Eagles and Bulldogs head coach hasn’t had much time to shake things up just yet, but confirmed he will explore options in the hope of sparking the flailing team back to life.
State of Origin 2024: Robbo backs Tedesco for Blues selection on merit
James Tedesco is far from locked into the Blues squad for Origin I, but he’s at least got the backing of coach Trent Robinson.
Tedesco is in a fight to retain the No.1 jersey for the Blues – a position he’s had a mortgage on since his debut in the third game of the 2016 series. He hasn’t missed an Origin since.
His opponent is Dylan Edwards, who has been arguably the form fullback of the comp for the last several seasons, and has been in the role for each of the Panthers’ four grand final appearances.
Robinson believes nobody is deserving of an automatic selection, but Tesdesco’s form was strong enough on its own.
James Tedesco has been Blues fullback since his debut in 2016 (Getty)”He’s been in outstanding form for us all year – as have a lot of guys in key positions for teams,” Robinson said.
“But he’s a leader and he’s been leading from the front all year, so I’d like to see him continue.
“I don’t think anybody should be an automatic selection, I think with such a competitive competition, the players we’re discussing are very good and dominating the competition as well.
“But he’s also led the way and he’s led the Blues to series victories as well.
“I don’t think he’s put a foot wrong.”
Tedesco’s last shot at securing his selection comes when the Roosters take on the Raiders on Saturday afternoon.
