Bay Area entrepreneur Ayesha Curry and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry welcomed their fourth child earlier this month, a son named Caius Chai, the couple confirmed in an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon.
The actress, 35, and NBA point guard, 36 have three other children together — Riley, 11; Ryan, 8; and Canon, 5 — and announced the news of Ayesha’s fourth pregnancy in a March cover story for Sweet July Magazine that accompanied photos of her baby bump.
“For so many years, Stephen and I thought we were done. We said, ‘Three, that’s it, we’re not doing this again,’” Ayesha told the publication, which she founded in 2020. “And then, last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again.”
Their son was born on May 11, according to the post.
Stephen Curry revealed in an interview with the Associated Press last month that the arrival of their fourth child, who was due in June, was planned around his Olympic Games debut later this summer.
He’s been tight-lipped about the birth for the last couple of weeks, despite making an unexpected appearance at BottleRock Napa Valley on Saturday, where he was spotted practicing his 3-point form with actor Bradley Cooper as they tossed cheesesteaks into the crowd from the culinary stage.
In the interview with Sweet July, Ayesha said they came to the decision to have another child after she kept finding herself “looking around and feeling like somebody was missing.”
The couple met as teenagers at a church youth group in North Carolina, but didn’t start dating until several years later when they reconnected in Los Angeles. They have been married since 2011.
