BREAKING: Luka Doncic explains why he did not watch the NBA Finals when he was younger.

Luka Doncic explains why he did not watch the NBA Finals when he was younger.

The NBA has historically been predominantly American, frequently overlooking potential from other countries. For years they were considered lazy, mushy, and unathletic.

These days, an increasing number of foreign players are dominating the league and disproving the myth. It’s possible that this trend won’t alter very soon considering that the last six MVPs have all been international players. Contrary to popular belief, not all international players are ardent NBA fans or grew up idolizing the league.

That was evident when Luka Doncic was asked by the media about his feelings about being in the NBA Finals after seeing them as a child. He said that he didn’t watch them because they were at 4 a.m. and he had classes the following day (via NBA Memes).

Most NBA fans in Europe have to deal with that reality, even though this player is currently regarded as the best or second-best player in the world. To watch NBA activity, they have to either wake up early, stay up late, or settle for watching reruns or highlights.

It wouldn’t be strange to see them make a few minor schedule adjustments in the future, though, if more and more European players continue to dominate the league. The NBA is now more international than ever, and since it is a money-making juggernaut, it won’t be long until they make some changes to reach even more people worldwide.
